I like to host a Friendsgiving potluck, complete with the airing of grievances and feats of strength. Everyone leaves with bellies full from good food, and aching from good laughs.
Besides having a pumpkin pie, we also have a chocolate pie! I also make giblet gravy to go on the turkey.
Heading to Philly to my aunt and uncle’s. Or now to my sister and brother-in-law’s in Florida with many family members. Lots of Tofurkey-like roasts for me!
Always do a turkey trot with bad turkey jokes. Have to have box stuffing and canned cranberry. Share what we are thankful for.
Stuffed mushrooms and mashed potato casserole. Walking in Shelly’s turkey trot.
I do love the green bean casserole. I started smoking a brisket for Thanksgiving every year. Mac n cheese and collards are the best!!! And a crispy turkey leg.
My oldest, Ilah, was born on Thanksgiving Day, so birthday cake has always been part of our Thanksgiving tradition! We kick off the day with a neighborhood 5K walk in Brookland before heading home to cook, eat, and celebrate with family. And one very important family rule: absolutely no Christmas movies or music until the day after Thanksgiving!
Grilling salmon and roasting veggies. And of course baking many pies!
